This is a long but excellent walk which offers plenty of variety including Walla Crag (376m), Lodore Falls, and a full circuit of Derwentwater. The route starts with a gentle climb out of Keswick before reaching the top of Walla Crag after about 4 km, with great views of the lake and beyond. The path then descends towards Derwentwater, briefly meeting the lake shore before heading towards Lodore Falls. My route includes a short, steep climb up the hill here, but the best views of the waterfall are from the bottom! After leaving Lodore Falls, it's a flat walk around the western half of Derwentwater, with plenty of opportunities to skim stones (or even take a dip!) before returning to Keswick.
