Ingleborough from Horton-in-Ribblesdale, Yorkshire Dales

Updated: Aug 10, 2023

Ingleborough is the second tallest of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, and it is a long, steady climb up the hill from Horton-in-Ribblesdale to reach the summit. This is a fantastic walk with a huge amount of variety, including waterfalls, a ravine, and sweeping views (on a clear day). Gaping Gill is an excellent lunch spot, or a great place to just rest for a while! I was staying at Holme Farm campsite (and parked there) but you could also park in the National Park car park up the road.

Alternative start point: Horton-in-Ribblesdale car park

Walking distance: 19.7 km (12.2 miles)

Cumulative elevation gain: 711m

Highest point: Ingleborough (723m)

Other landmarks: Gaping Gill, Trow Gill

Difficulty: 4/5

Date walked: 07/05/23
