Aira Force & Gowbarrow Fell, Lake District

From the National Trust car park it's a short walk uphill to see the thunderous waterfall of Aira Force. To extend the hike, keep following the river, then turn right to head towards Gowbarrow Fell. It was very wet when we did this walk, which meant that the waterfall was especially powerful, but also that the ground around the fell was extremely boggy! This would be a lovely walk on a clear, dry day, and there are great views of Ullswater as you descend from Gowbarrow Fell back towards the waterfall and river.
